    Bobbi vs Hootsuite

Hootsuite alternative: does a small business need a command center?

Hootsuite practically invented social media management software, and large marketing teams run their whole social presence on it. The question is whether a business of one or five people needs the same machinery, or something else entirely.

    The short answer

Hootsuite is a management platform for teams that work on social media all day: shared inboxes, approval workflows, listening tools and reporting across many channels. Bobbi is for owners who cannot give social media more than half an hour a week: it plans, writes and publishes the content itself. If you have a marketing team, Hootsuite gives it a professional cockpit. If you are the team, Bobbi does the work instead of organizing it.

    What they are

    A cockpit and an employee

These two are built for completely different sized businesses: Hootsuite for teams who do social media as their job, and Bobbi for businesses run by one or two people.

    Hootsuite in a sentence

A social media command center. Streams for following conversations, a shared inbox for messages, scheduling, team roles, approvals and reporting across channels. It assumes someone sits in the cockpit every single day.

    Bobbi in a sentence

A social media employee. It reads your website and photos, plans the week, writes the posts in your voice, picks the photos and publishes to Instagram and Facebook after your approval. It assumes nobody has time to sit in a cockpit.

    The real difference

Managing the work vs doing the work

A management platform multiplies the output of people who already produce content. When a team writes posts, answers messages and reports to a boss, Hootsuite keeps all of that organized, and it is genuinely good at it. But if nobody is producing the content in the first place, a bigger cockpit does not help. The plane is still on the ground.

For a solo owner or a small team, most of Hootsuite's surface area is machinery for a job you do not have: roles for a team you do not employ, an inbox for a volume of messages you answer from your phone anyway, and reports for a boss who is you. You pay for all of it, in money and in learning curve.

Full credit where it is due: if you manage several brands, need to track what is said about you across the internet, or serve customers through social media at real volume, Hootsuite earns its keep. Bobbi does not try to be that. It tries to make sure there is something worth managing in the first place: a steady week of good posts.

    The honest recommendation

    Which one should you pick?

This one is less about taste and more about the size and shape of your company.

    Choose Bobbi if

    • You are both the owner and the marketing department
    • Creating the content is your bottleneck, not organizing it
    • Your customers are on Instagram and Facebook
    • You want the week handled in 15 to 30 minutes

    Choose Hootsuite if

    • Several people work on your social media and need shared workflows
    • You manage many brands or accounts side by side
    • Customer service happens in your DMs at real volume
    • You report results to clients or leadership
    Common questions

Bobbi vs Hootsuite, asked and answered

Is Hootsuite overkill for a small business?

Plenty of small businesses use Hootsuite happily, usually for the scheduling alone. The honest question is what share of the platform you would actually use. If the answer is one feature, you are paying team prices for basic scheduling, and either a lighter scheduler or a done for you service will fit better. Hootsuite starts making sense when several people share the work.

Does Bobbi have an inbox for comments and messages?

No, and that is a deliberate choice. Bobbi creates and publishes your content, but the conversations stay yours: a reply from the actual owner is worth more to a customer than a managed response ever will be. Most small businesses answer their messages from their phone in spare moments, and no tool needs to sit in the middle of that.

We are a two person company. Which one fits us?

The size matters less than the bottleneck. If one of you genuinely enjoys making content and has the hours for it, a scheduler or management tool supports that person well. If both of you are busy running the actual business and social media keeps sliding to next week, that is the situation Bobbi was built for. The approval flow works fine with two people: either of you can review and approve the week.

Can I use Hootsuite and Bobbi together?

Yes. The clean split is by job: Bobbi plans, writes and publishes your Instagram and Facebook content, while Hootsuite covers other channels or handles your inbox if you get real message volume. They do not conflict, because Bobbi publishes through Meta's official interface just like other tools do.
